Lake Forest-based Trustmark Companies, a Corporate Hospitality Partner for BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Trustmark will host a hospitality chalet on the 16th hole of the 2013 BMW Championship, the penultimate event in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, to represent the “Trustmark Foursome” of companies: Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions, Starmark, CoreSource and HealthFitness. Board member and former Trustmark CEO Dave McDonough was instrumental in persuading TOUR planners to hold the event Sept. 9-15 at Conway Farms Golf Club, which lies adjacent to Trustmark’s home office in Lake Forest, Ill.

McDonough, who has served as Conway Farms Golf Club’s president for the past two years, was involved in helping BMW, the Western Golf Association and the PGA TOUR in the decision to select Conway Farms as the tournament site from among a number of other courses. It is the club’s first professional golf event, though many national amateur tournaments have been held there.

“Conway Farms is a challenging golf course that can handle the crowd, it has a very strong caddie program which is important to the Western Golf Association and its North Shore location is a prime target market for BMW,” said McDonough. “Those three factors played a major role in the decision-making process.”

Star golfers Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and defending champion Rory McIlroy are among the top 70 golfers who will compete in the tournament. “Luke Donald, former world number one and Conway Farms member, was also enthusiastic about bringing the BMW Championship to Conway Farms,” said McDonough. “It should be an exciting time for the city of Lake Forest, for Trustmark and the golf club community throughout the North Shore. It’s especially great for Conway Farms – it offers a level of exposure for the club you just can’t buy.”

More than 75 of Trustmark’s top producers, brokers, clients and board members have been invited to enjoy the weekend by attending the BMW Championship, golfing at a nearby facility and joining other planned activities.
