Why do you like working for the company?
HealthFitness has the right resources to make me successful in the company. With online resources, regular regional calls and assistance through the Preferred Purchasing Program, we have many ways to get information at our fingertips. Another valuable thing about HealthFitness is how management support comes from varying levels, lending different perspectives. I feel employees are comfortable when approaching leaders ranging from the CEO to the Regional Managers. That’s a real advantage to have.
What stands out about the culture of the company?
HealthFitness prides itself on helping those they serve, which carries over to the way they treat their employees as well. Part of HealthFitness’ success stems from their Mission Statement, reflecting not only how they tackle their clients’ needs, but also that which permeates into the culture of their own company.
Which of your personal values align with the company’s values? In which way?
Loyalty. HealthFitness treats us well and believes in what we have to offer as a staff. In turn, we work hard to make them proud of our efforts. Many times during presentations, it’s brought out that HealthFitness’ biggest asset is its employees. That sends a message to our employees that we’re valuable. To many people that’s just as important as the amount of money they may be making at their job.
How do you know your job makes a difference in others’ lives?
When I see people continually coming back to our fitness centers or signing up for annual health management programs, it shows me that they value what we offer and want to continue participating. Of course, we get immediate feedback both verbally and visually from our clients. This also shows that both their efforts and ours are affecting them in a positive way.
Why would someone want to work at the company?
Besides being one of the largest and most reputable corporate fitness management companies in our industry, we also carry such a diverse collection of knowledge among our colleagues to tap into. Our network of information is so vast. HealthFitness also offers room for growth if you are a committed employee and are willing to really put in the work.
How does working at the company measure up to a similar company or companies you may have worked for in the past?
HealthFitness has been the most professional organization I’ve worked for so far. Its operational processes, network of staff and involvement of upper management is unmatched by any company I’ve come across in my career in the fitness industry.
Do you have any other comments about your own work experiences at the company that would be valuable to future recruits?
I would take advantage of the different job opportunities within HealthFitness, whether you get paid for it or not. Being “volunteered” or “voluntold” isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you are learning a new skill or being exposed to something different. The more you learn, the farther you will go, not only at HealthFitness but in life, as well.
